Nursery

Birth - 3 years

Nursery Ministries provides a safe and joyful environment for our littlest disciples to learn about the great, big God who loves them. The nursery is staffed by four highly qualified attendants with vast experience caring for babies and toddlers. They are assisted by a team of teens and adults who provide extra support. Children promote out of the Nursery and into the Pre-School class upon 3rd birthday.

Will your child be joining the Nursery soon? We would love to arrange a time for you and your child to have a personal tour of the nursery and fully-fenced playground.

Check-In & Check-Out

If it is your child’s first time Sunday, we encourage you to arrive a few minutes early to check in your child. During check-in, you will receive a security tag with a unique code matching your child’s name tag. You will use this security tag for pick-up. You can confidently enjoy the service knowing your child will be loved and cared for by our trained and background-checked volunteers. If, for some reason your child needs you during service, this number on your security tag will also be displayed on the small screen to the left side of the sanctuary stage.

Questions we’re often asked

  • While infants, babies, and toddlers are more than welcome to join you in the service in the sanctuary, the nursery is a joyful place for them to learn about Jesus in developmentally appropriate ways. The nursery is a place for young children to interact with others their age. Our youngest disciples are taught Bible stories as they listen to Children’s praise music and complete simple crafts. The nursery staff prays for the babies and toddlers in our care and teaches them to say simple prayers too. The Welcome Desk is also a great place to meet other parents as you drop off and pick up your children.

  • The nursery is located on the main floor to the left of the kitchen. When you enter the main entrance of the building turn left. Upon arriving at the Nursery Welcome Desk there will be a Nursery Attendant who will help your child get settled and answer questions. Each child in the nursery has a personal cubby to store any personal items including diaper bags and comfort items.

  • The nursery is available during the 9 & 11 services on Sunday mornings. Please watch the church calendar to see if nursery care is an option for specific evening church events.

  • Yes! Puffs, Cheerios, Yogurt Melts, and crackers are common snacks in the nursery. Bananas, muffins, and small cookies are enjoyed on holidays and special occasions. If your child has special dietary needs, please notify the nursery staff. You are welcome to send a labeled snack for your child. The nursery provides sippy cups with water during snack time. You may provide a labeled bottle with instructions for infants not yet eating solid foods.

  • The nursery staff ensures that all babies and toddlers in our care are clean and dry. The changing station is sterilized between each child and diapers are changed in view of another nursery team member. If your child’s diaper was changed, you will find a “Changed with Love” sticker on their nametag when you pick them up. If you prefer to be notified if your child needs a diaper change instead, please let the staff know. We can send a text notifying you that your child needs a change. There is a diaper changing station in the single use bathroom next to the nursery.

  • Nursing mothers are welcome in the nursery. Many mothers enjoy visiting with the Nursery Staff as they tend to their infants. There is also a napping room if you prefer a more private space. Please notify the nursery staff if you will be popping into the nursery for this purpose. Unexpected visitors can be unsettling to some of the children in our care. Thank you for helping us set them up for success.

  • While we hope to see your children every time the church doors are open, to keep our children and Nursery staff healthy, we ask that you join us for services online from home when running a fever. Please wait a full 24 hours after the last bout of diarrhea or vomiting before attending church in person. Should your child show signs of illness while in our care we will notify you right away. In the rare event that a child comes to church with a communicable childhood disease (such as Hand-Foot and Mouth for example) you will receive an email from the church so you can watch for symptoms. Please know that all the surfaces and toys are sanitized each week and children and teachers maintain good handwashing practices while in our care.
